Arches is one of the most spectacular national parks in the state of
Utah, USA with amazing rock formations, natural monuments
and about 2000 natural arches.
Some of them (the Balanced Rock, the Three Gossips, the Courthouse)
can be admired directly from the main road in the park. Short hikes (30 minutes) offer access
to the Sand Dune arch, Double Arch, North and South Windows arches.
Take a longer hike (1-1:30 hour) to the world famous Delicate Arch. The best views
to this arch are before sunset so be prepared with a flashlight for your return.
Avoid hiking without a guide in the Fiery Furnace slot canyons, and generally avoid hiking
alone in the park. The longest (several hours) and most rewarding hike is
the Devil's garden trail. This trail goes to the Landscape arch (the longest natural arch in
the world reaching almost 90 m) and the Double O Arch. While in Arches National Park
take a day trip to Canyonlands National Park and Moab. From Moab you can
experience some of the best mountain biking trails in the world. Wildlife in the park
is rear but you can occasionally spot a bighorn sheep. Weather is
very hot in the Summer reaching 100F. The best time to visit is Spring or late
